HER MESSAGE
" I have chosen you to rekindle the love that is dying out in the world."
These words of Christ to Marthe Robin summarise her mission, that of revealing the unconditional love of God for each person.
Marthe is a passionate apostle of Jesus Christ who reveals the loving and compassionate face of God – a loving and approachable Father – to those who draw near to him. The hope that comes alive in her is contagious. Without moving, she is a missionary who actively participates, through her prayer and powerful influence, in the new evangelisation of a world that is in such need to be set alight by a «new Pentecost of love».
Although Marthe Robin's message is new in many respects, it is deeply rooted in the tradition of the Church. Her insights, particularly regarding the position and role of the laity, coming well before the Second Vatican Council, have subsequently developed to the point that she is considered to be one of the "apostles of the new evangelisation".
I would like to be everywhere at once in order to proclaim over and over again how good is our God, how much he loves humankind and how tender and compassionate he is with everyone.
Everything begins with the love of God for every individual whatever our past and the sins we have committed. It is out of love that God the Father sends his Son Jesus, who becomes a brother to all of us. The Holy Spirit stirs our hearts to be open to this love. Marthe is a radiant witness to the love of Christ and an instrument of the Holy Spirit through which the Lord can touch the souls of those who come to see him.
The power of this love reveals itself in a body tortured by suffering. The life of Marthe is a reminder that Christian hope in the Resurrection presupposes the Cross, but that“all our pain is shared by Jesus who wants to draw new life from all our crosses.”
Finally, Marthe is one of the flames of a «New Pentecost of Love» in the world: she announces a new era during which people will come together with a single heart in the love of God. To prepare for this advent, she emphasised the role and mission of the laity, who she tirelessly helped to train intellectually and spiritually, through the Foyers de Charité in particular; not to mention that many new communities or lay initiatives drew their inspiration from her, with the enthusiasm of the "New Evangelisation".
