Her legacy
Coming to Châteauneuf to follow in the footsteps of Marthe
If you are passing through Châteauneuf-de-Galaure, you are welcome to the “Robin Farm” to come and spend some time in the room where Marthe Robin lived. A reception centre has been specially created to learn about her life or answer your questions.
At Châteauneuf-de-Galaure, Marthe's room and the farm in which she lived all her life are still there. The room is as it was when she lived there. Those who came to see her in her lifetime came to seek comfort, discernment and prayer. Despite the fact that Marthe is no longer physically present to console, strengthen and pray for all who come to visit her, we can now experience the infinitely joyful mystery of the Communion of Saints: Marthe, who always desired to work for the salvation of the whole world, now brings our prayers to God, even more so than in the past.
In her room, which is kept in darkness just like it was when she was there, the atmosphere that prevails is conducive to self-reflection and spiritual openness. The bed where she lay for so many years is still there, along with some family photos, a few objects of piety, etc. There are a few rush chairs for sitting down and allowing the peaceful atmosphere of the place to soothe you.
Visiting Marthe's home is also about meeting the people that were guided by her in their vocation. It is about taking time to focus on one's spiritual life with members or friends of the Foyers de Charité. Finding a moment alone for inward reflection or with people who will listen to you.
